Fratelli Rocca is a young agricultural business located in the Vastapaglia hamlet of Cocconato, housed in the family’s eighteenth-century rural home and the surrounding land.
We are, first and foremost, a family one that has lived on and loved this land for generations. In 2021, we returned to farming with a renewed commitment to our territory.
The farming techniques
We follow are certified by Suolo e Salute, with a focus not only on preserving biodiversity but also on the cultural heritage connected to our work.
Tonda Gentile
Our main crop is the prized Tonda Gentile hazelnut, a symbol of quality and a staple of Piedmontese agriculture.
We cultivate it using drainage systems and water collection tanks to minimize water usage and ensure sustainability.
Our processing lab
is located directly on the farm and allows us to manage the entire hazelnut production cycle—from harvest to cake packaging—within just three kilometers.
All of our products are gluten-free.
The Savoiarda sheep
is a native breed currently classified as endangered, with only about 300 animals remaining. We raise a small flock of around twenty sheep for meat production.
Our animals graze outdoors all year long and are fed exclusively with forage produced on our farm during the winter months.
Eggs
Our hens—Bionda di Buttigliera and Padovana breeds—supply us with eggs, allowing our workshop to be largely self-sufficient throughout most of the year.
Our most recent addition
Our most recent addition is a fruit and vegetable garden, covering about half a giornata piemontese (approximately 1,900 square meters), along with over a hundred fruit trees.
